A 0% interest loan of up to $15,000 for a more comfortable, energy-efficient home
The NSW Government is helping eligible households upgrade to efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning and other energy-saving improvements, with no interest and no fees, repaid over up to 10 years. We're getting set up to offer it. Register your interest and we'll be in touch the moment we can get you started.
We're completing our accreditation now. Registering is not a finance application and doesn't commit you to anything.
An initiative of the NSW Government
The 0% loan is funded by the NSW Government and delivered by its appointed finance providers, Brighte and Plenti.
What the Home Energy Saver loan is
It's a NSW Government program that lets eligible households borrow up to $15,000 at 0% interest to install approved energy-saving upgrades, including efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning.
What it does is spread the cost out, interest-free, so you can get the comfortable, efficient system you actually want without the big upfront hit. We'll lay out the full cost, with the loan applied, in a clear quote.
Spreading the cost at 0% is the time to do it properly
The program is built around efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning. Because you're paying it off interest-free, it's a great time to choose the system that'll keep you comfortable and keep running costs down for years. Here's where to start.
Efficient reverse-cycle AC
The upgrade the program is built around, whether that's a single split system or whole-home ducted. We'll size it right for your place.
Explore ductedAdd smart zoning with MyPlace IQ
Zone every room and only heat or cool the ones you're using, up to 46% less on ducted running costs. The smart way to run a ducted system.
Discover MyPlace IQEfficient heat pump hot water
Also on the approved upgrade list. A high-efficiency way to cut one of the biggest energy users in the home.
About heat pumpsDo it as a package and make the most of your $15,000
Your loan can go toward more than one approved upgrade. A smart move is to pair an efficient reverse-cycle system with heat pump hot water and do it all in one go, interest-free, so you tackle two of your home's biggest energy users at once instead of facing a second project later. We'll work out the right package for your home.
Who can use it
- You own a home in NSW, as an owner-occupier or a landlord.
- Your household's combined taxable income is up to $210,000 a year.
- You're an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Loans are subject to the finance provider's approval.
On a lower income or a concession card?
If your household income is under $80,000, or you hold a concession card such as a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card, you may also qualify for an additional discount the NSW Government is introducing later in 2026. Register your interest and we'll keep you posted when it opens.
Back the local team that'll still be here
When a government scheme opens up, all sorts of operators appear overnight. Ample Air has been the local name in heating and cooling since 1982, and we'll be here long after the program closes to look after what we install.

Frequently asked
Is this a rebate or free money?
No. It's a 0% interest loan. You repay what you borrow, just with no interest and no fees, over up to 10 years. It doesn't reduce the price of the job, it spreads the cost.
Can I use it to go ducted, or add smart zoning?
The program is built around efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning, and that includes ducted systems. Smart zoning like MyPlace IQ is a great pairing for a ducted system so you only condition the rooms you're using, though it isn't itself a funded item. We'll be clear about what the program covers and what's an optional add-on when we quote.
Can I do more than one upgrade with the loan?
Yes. The loan can go toward more than one approved upgrade, up to $15,000 in total. A popular combination is an efficient reverse-cycle system plus heat pump hot water, done together in one go so you make the most of the one interest-free loan. We'll confirm what qualifies and put together the right package for your home.
What will it cost me?
The cost of the system and install, the same as any job, just financed at 0% over up to 10 years instead of paid upfront. We'll give you a clear quote.
Can renters use it?
The loan itself is for owners and landlords. If you rent, there's a separate discount the NSW Government is bringing in later in 2026 that your landlord's permission can unlock. Register and we'll let you know when it opens.
