Keeping your air conditioning filter clean is essential for maintaining airflow, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.
Cleaning Instructions
Most filters can be cleaned with a gentle spray from a garden hose. Here’s how:
-
Remove the Filter
Carefully take the filter out of the unit. The side that was facing into the room is the dirty side.
-
Rinse the Filter
Hold the filter with the dirty side facing away from you, and gently hose it from the clean side. This prevents dust from being pushed deeper into the filter.
-
Final Rinse
Once the majority of dust is removed, you can flip the filter and hose down both sides to ensure a full clean.
-
Dry Completely
Allow the filter to drip dry fully before reinstalling it in the unit.
Note: While some filters can be vacuumed, we recommend against it as vacuuming can often cause more damage than good.
